22 Of The Best Looks From Last Night's BET Awards

Getty Images

The BET Awards is the show that takes place annually in June and highlights the entertainment-related and philanthropic accomplishments of African-Americans.

Every year, the "who's who" of black artists show up to perform, give away awards, make political statements, and of course, show off their threads on the red carpet (which was actually grey this year).

In other words, the BET Awards is an annual LITuation. (You know, "lit" and "situation" put together to describe when a situation is very, very lit.)

Check out the coolest looks to hit the carpet.

It seems this year, blonde bobs and red wine hues took center stage at the awards show.

1. Solange Knowles

Solange's usual quirky, cool girl style was in full form at the BET Awards as she accepted the Centric Award for her song, "Cranes In The Sky" in a black ensemble.

2. Karrueche Tran

Karrueche sported a purple, asymmetrical mini-dress and kept up with the blonde hair of her character, Virginia, from her new hit series Claws.

3. Gucci Mane

Talk about a dapper rapper! Gucci Mane was all smiles in a "robin's egg blue" suit and gorgeous diamond jewelry.

4. Yara Shahidi

The Blackish star and soon-to-be Harvard woman stepped out in a slightly ruffled denim get-up and feathered heels. As usual, her natural curly hair was on full display.

5. Eva Marcille

One look at Eva Marcille on this grey carpet and you instantly know why she deserved to win cycle three of America's Next Top Model. The alluring supermodel and actress glowed in goddess-worthy long box braids and white gown that was equal parts hippie and glamorous.

6. Dascha Polanco

The Orange Is The New Black star looked much more angelic than her character, Daya, who is currently in the middle of a prison riot in the series' latest Season 5.

Polanco kept it simple and beautiful in an all-white pants suit that also boasted some seriously glam ruffles on the right shoulder.

7. Amber Rose

Always one to turn up the sexy, Rose wore a green Balmain dress to the awards with her signature sunglasses.

8. Blac Chyna

Chyna stepped onto the red carpet, sans Rob Kardashian and her lovely kiddos. She looked fun and edgy in a semi-sheer black dress and blunt cut blonde bob.

9. French Montana

French Montana, who was there to perform his hit "Unforgettable," looked incredibly cool in his long red and white embroidered jacket.

10. Justine Skye

The singer and member of Kylie Jenner's girl squad stepped out in a unique asymmetrical look that only highlighted the glow of her deep brown skin.

11. Remy Ma

The rapper showed up to take home her "Best Female Rapper" award in a sophisticated grey and black dress with beaded fringe and a beautifully made up face.

12. Migos

The "Bad & Boujee" rappers always keep it cool and flashy and the BET Awards was no different, as they guys showed up in colorful floral blouses and enough jewelry to pay mine and your tuition.

13. Cardi B

The female rapper arrived to the awards in a fire engine red pants suit as a first-time nominee in the "Best Female Rapper" category.

14. Demetrius Shipp Jr.

Shipp look familiar to you? It may be because he's a dead ringer for the late rapper Tupac, who he plays in the latest biopic, All Eyez On Me.

Shipp looked great in a wine-colored suit, but, even without the nose ring and the film's costuming, he's Tupac all over again.

I guess now we know what the rapper would look like walking around today: Drop dead gorgeous in a bomb, tailored suit.

15. Big Sean & Jhené Aiko

Rapper Big Sean and his singer-girlfriend, Jhené Aiko, hit the red carpet in complementary red ensembles. Aiko looked summer-appropriate in a red and pink-printed wrap dress, while Sean looked hot (in more ways than one) while wearing his velvet red jacket and pants set.

Sean was also there to perform, but it looks like they both came to slay.

16. Diddy

Oh, this is just Diddy being the Diddy-est he can possibly be in a fashionable striped blouse, white slacks, and patent leather ankle boots. Leave it to Diddy to out-Diddy everyone at the show.

And I couldn't live with myself if I didn't point out that he brought forth a whole other kind of "#DiddyCrop" with these pants.

17. Kat Graham

Kat Graham, Shipp's co-star in the All Eyez On Me biopic, wore a beautiful, although rather strange, black-and-white printed dress with circular cutouts in the front and along the sides. Kinda '70s, but still very modern? Super freaking chic.

Clearly she got the blonde bob wig memo along with Blac Chyna, Cardi B., and Karrueche.

18. Leslie Jones

We don't always get to see the comedian in a gown, but when we do, it's glorious. This green hue is everything on Jones' skin complexion.

19. Issa Rae

The Insecure actress, writer, and producer brought all of the sexy in this striped multi-colored dress.

20. LaLa Anthony

LaLa shined brightly in this sheer, sparkly gown.

21. Logan Browning

The Dear White People star was obviously feeling pretty feathery for her first BET Awards appearance.

22. Bruno Mars

Mars, whose performance kicked off the show, was ever so cool in his '90s-inspired windbreaker and sneakers look.
