Selena Gomez Was Spotted Wearing Justin Bieber's Hockey Jersey & We're So Confused
It looks like Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber might be back together. I'm not even kidding, I think they're actually dating again less than a week after news of her breakup with The Weeknd. The two were seen earlier this week getting breakfast and going to church together, then riding their bikes around L.A. a few days later. Now, they've been spotted hanging out after a hockey game, with Gomez was wearing Bieber's jersey like girlfriends do. These photos of Selena Gomez in Justin Bieber's jersey have fans super confused, but me most of all. First of all, I'm confused because sports. Second of all, I'm confused because it was my understanding that everyone has heard Dua Lipa's "New Rules" at this point? It stands to reason that if everyone has heard it, they wouldn't get back with their ex because it breaks her rules! Selena, you are stressing me out, girl.
TMZ reports Gomez attended Bieber's hockey scrimmage in L.A. the same day they were seen going on a bike ride together. Gomez reportedly stayed for the whole game and left with Bieber. When they left, she was wearing his jersey. I'm not sure if it was the same jersey he played hockey in (if so, that sh*t must've been sweaty as hell, please wash it before wearing it again, Selena), but either way, it looks like these two are officially a thing.
I mean, come on, who wears a guy's jersey/his clothes in general unless they're a thing?
Gomez wore The Weeknd's sweatshirts all the time when they were still dating — and she's even doing it post-breakup — so this is a move.
Fans are just like, "Selena, honey, please go listen to 'New Rules' now."
Earlier this week, Gomez was seen wearing one of The Weeknd's jackets. Apparently, he hasn't come over to her place to pick up his box of stuff yet.
According to TMZ, The Weeknd is the one who broke up with Gomez — and he apparently did it over the phone. Bummer. TMZ reports The Weeknd felt unfairly tied down to a relationship that didn't have anymore passion, so he called her and ended things amicably. They're reportedly still in contact with each other. Despite fans theorizing that it was Bieber and Gomez's reconciliation that broke them up, sources say the relationship had been slowly ending for a while. An insider told People,
[Selena] and Abel have been going back and forth for a few months about their relationship. It’s been hard with him being on tour and her shooting in New York. That wasn’t easy on them.
It looks like distance didn't make the heart grow fonder for The Weeknd and Selena Gomez. The source added, "It’s been hard for them to come to the realization that this is the direction things were heading, but it’s been hard for months."
So basically, The Weeknd and Selena Gomez broke up because their relationship just wasn't working for either of them. While it still seems like Gomez is jumping into spending so much time with Bieber pretty fast, they originally reconciled back when Gomez revealed in September that she had a kidney transplant over the summer. That means they've probably been hanging out in secret ever since that reconciliation. And that means they've had a good bit of private time to become good friends again. Enough time has passed since Gomez's kidney transplant announcement for them to have built up a new friendship. But the question of whether or not they're getting back together still remains.
According to Us Weekly, friends of Bieber and Gomez seem to think them getting back together is inevitable. An insider told the outlet,
He has been texting her nonstop and hangs out with her whenever he can. Selena insisted that they were just friends and that The Weeknd had nothing to worry about, but she can’t deny that she still loves Justin. He had such a big piece of her heart and was such a huge part of her life for so long. She can’t just let him go.
Another source close to Gomez said she's happy being single right now, but she's always loved Bieber in some capacity, so getting back together is on the table because she reportedly "can't just let him go." The source said,
