Women Hold Up Signs With Donald Trump's Most Sexist Quotes

by Alexandra Svokos

We've made no secret about the fact Donald Trump is a sexist, creepy man with a masculinity complex.

There is at least one positive aspect of Trump's blatant misogyny, however. He has made it clear sexism is alive and well and women still have barriers to overcome.

Trump's comments bring to life the sexism that is often hidden under layers by more deft politicians. When he said women who get abortions should be punished, for instance, he was simply saying out loud the logical conclusion of the anti-choice stance.

Sexist comments have a real impact. Even if Trump does not actually win the presidency, his nasty rhetoric sets a wave of discrimination in motion. Trump hurts the individuals he attacks, but he also hurts the women who hear the attacks.

He reinforces damaging stereotypes, allowing other people to think and repeat his discrimination. This then allows people to act using sexist reasoning -- seeing women only as decorative objects, to be valued completely based on their outward appearance.

This extends beyond sexism, of course. Trump's Islamophobia and racism have these same dangerous effects.

We asked Elite Daily women to hold signs with real comments Trump has made about women because the story of Trump's sexism isn't about Trump -- it's about the women hurt and held back by it.

Trump told Howard Stern about his views on parental roles in 2005:

Trump tweeted this in 2013, blaming anyone but the assailants for sexual assaults.

Trump told New York Magazine in 1992 how he thinks you should act with women:

Megyn Kelly asked Trump about his history of sexist comments during a debate in August. He later told CNN that he has "no respect for her" and said:

After Kelly asked the question at the debate, Trump quipped he only made sexist, derogatory remarks about Rosie O'Donnell -- as if that's a legitimate excuse. Trump once said about O'Donnell:

Trump made this comment to Stern in 2005.

In 1991, Trump said this about the media to Esquire:

Trump shared this tweet from a fan last year. He deleted the tweet -- just as he has taken back other sexist comments after facing backlash.
