All 6 Seasons Of Schitt's Creek Are Coming To HBO Max V Soon
Because we need Moira Rose now more than ever.
There’s a new way to check into the Rosebud Motel. HBO Max has announced that Schitt’s Creek will be added to its streaming library beginning Feb. 7. The addition comes a little over a week after Catherine O’Hara’s death.
The Canadian riches-to-rags comedy series aired from 2015 to 2020, becoming an awards season favorite in its final seasons. Its original streaming home was on Netflix, but it was removed in 2022. In addition to now being available on HBO Max, Schitt’s Creek will also continue to stream on Hulu.
The timing is particularly notable for HBO Max, since a lot of fans are interested in revisiting Schitt’s Creek after O’Hara’s death on Jan. 30. The comedy legend portrayed the eccentric former millionaire Moira Rose, who was beloved for her wig-raising style as well as her endlessly quotable lines. As the world looks back on O’Hara’s indelible legacy, there’s a high demand to revisit some of her funniest Schitt’s Creek episodes right now.
After O’Hara’s death, her whole fictional Schitt’s Creek family mourned her in touching tributes.
“Words seem inadequate to express the loss I feel today,” Eugene Levy wrote in a statement to Rolling Stone. “I had the honor of knowing and working with the great Catherine O’Hara for over fifty years. From our beginnings on the Second City stage, to SCTV, to the movies we did with Chris Guest, to our six glorious years on Schitt’s Creek, I cherished our working relationship, but most of all our friendship. And I will miss her.”
Dan Levy, who played O’Hara’s son on Schitt’s Creek, wrote on Instagram: “What a gift to have gotten to dance in the warm glow of Catherine O’Hara’s brilliance for all those years. Having spent over fifty years collaborating with my Dad, Catherine was extended family before she ever played my family. It’s hard to imagine a world without her in it. I will cherish every funny memory I was fortunate enough to make with her.”
Annie Murphy, who played O’Hara’s daughter on the show, also took to Instagram: “Ha-ha-HAAAA?!?! Her laugh was a perpetual Yes, And...It challenged anyone who heard it to join in, and be as delighted as she was. Gosh, were we ever lucky to have her.”
