In what seems to one of the biggest blows to tea lovers across the nation, Starbucks will be closing all of their Teavana stores. The announcement came on Thursday, July 27, and all 379 Teavana stores will be shut down by spring 2018. Needless to say, people are really upset about it.

Starbucks has decided to close its tea stores due to underperformance, and said in a press release,

Following a strategic review of the Teavana store business, the company concluded that despite efforts to reverse the trend through creative merchandising and new store designs, the underperformance was likely to continue.

That's a huge bummer for Teavana, but it's an even bigger bummer for fans of the tea store who've taken to Twitter to mourn the loss of their favorite shop.

"If news couldn't get any worse..."

It really has been a tough week in news.

"I have a lot of questions."

Worst week in news ever!

Is Mercury retrograde or something?

"I'm high-key depressed about Teavana closing."

"RIP free samples at the mall."

How dare you close your own stores, Starbucks?

The nerve.

Am I the only person shocked that so many people were Teavana fans? Who knew!

The closing of 379 stores will leave about 3,300 employees without a job. These employees are encouraged to apply for other positions at Starbucks stores as the coffee-giant is looking to open up many employment opportunities both in the U.S. and abroad.

"Starbucks remains on track to create 240,000 new jobs globally and 68,000 in the U.S. over the next five years," an excerpt from the press release says.

It's been a rough week, guys. First, we almost lose Microsoft Paint, then Walmart punks Nintendo fans with a fake presale, and now Teavana stores are closing for good?!

I don't think people can take any more terrible news. This week in has really been a tough one, but hopefully next week will be a little better.
