I Tried Starbucks' New Horchata Almond Milk Frappuccino And It's My New PSL

Contrary to popular opinion, I'm more than ready for the fall... but at the same time, it's stifling outside and I can't quite part ways with refreshing treats just yet. Lo and behold, Starbucks gets the frustration and has gifted customers with a summer and fall blend in a cup that provides a taste of both seasons. Starbucks, your new Horchata Almond Frapp just might dethrone the coveted Pumpkin Spice Latte.

With a blend of coffee, almond milk, caramel, and cinnamon dusting, this treat screams flannel shirts and beanies. The coffee is just right, although the cinnamon can get a little overpowering if your barista has a heavy hand -- but with a quick twirl of your straw, the lovely whipped cream will scoop it right up and tone it down. As per usual, the frapp is cool and sweet but gives an alternative to the berries everyone's been accustomed to this season with the Violet Drink and Teavana teas.

With the weather we have in store for the fall, it's a good thing that Starbucks is leaving hints of summer in its fall flavors. According to the Weather Channel, fall 2017 is going to break records for its heat. Take a look at this fall map of the U.S. weather — the orange and gold certainly look like autumn leaves, but it's clear these warm hues mean everyone's in for some heat.

From September to November — prime time for hoodies and boots — areas throughout the East Coast, South, and Midwest will experience warmer temperatures, likely due to unusual weather patterns. So not only are you going to be having summer-like drinks, you're probably going to be wearing summer, clothes, too.

Though things might be a bit different this year, that doesn't mean you can't enjoy all that fall has to offer, like horror flicks, apple picking, and pumpkin patches. Take it from yours truly: I've taken my decorations out from storage and lined up the scary movies I want to watch on Netflix, so basically I'm in fall Halloween mode.
