If you're like me and you're traumatized by the girl drama that ruined your high school years, you're careful who you trust.

All in all, it's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to your private information.

In your 20s, you're sure to meet lots of new people. Whether you meet through work, school, friends, or by chance, it can be easy to trust these new acquaintances.

The unfortunate truth is you never really know who you're talking to. One moment you're the best of friends, and before you know it, you haven't heard from them in years.

To spare yourself a serious case of the feels, be careful who you spill your secrets to. Unless you really don't care who knows your deepest, darkest information, stick to these few people for when you really need to vent.

1. Your Mom

She's been there since day one (and before that, technically), and will continue to be there throughout your life.

You can trust her for almost anything without fear of judgement or repercussions. You're her baby, after all.

2. Your Bae

As long as you're picky about selecting your SO, trusting them with your secrets is a safe bet.

A huge part of being in a relationship is trusting and supporting each other, so a good old fashioned venting session is nothing to stress about.

When you've said what you need to say, bae will be there for you with hugs and kisses. What a bonus.

3. Your Girl Squad

Sharing is basically what friends are for. Together, you'll share memories, photographs, secrets, and lots of laughs.

You can definitely count on their support when times are tough.

4. Your Favorite Professor

You'll meet dozens of talented lecturers throughout your college career. Hopefully, you'll be lucky enough to have at least one professor who greatly impacts your life in one way or another.

If you're struggling with anything school-related (or not), this special professor will most likely be more than willing to help out. Stop by during his or her office hours, or shoot them an email if time is of the essence.

5. Your Pet

OK, your pooch isn't technically a person, but that furry little guy needed to make it on this list. And besides, it's basically a fact that pets are the best listeners.

As you spill your most classified information, you can give your pet a massage and revel in the insane amount of cuteness. It's pretty much the most therapeutic experience on the planet.

You also don't have to worry about your pet talking behind your back, which is a major plus.

6. Your BFF

If you can't trust your bestie with your secrets, they're not really your best friend. No explanation needed.

7. Your Hairdresser

When you just need to rant to a semi-stranger about the stresses of your life, take a trip to the salon for a new hairstyle. You can talk your heart out as you get an epic head massage.

And when you're all done, you'll walk out of the salon looking as amazing as ever.

8. Your Sibling

Especially when you and your siblings are similar in age, you're sure to have lots to talk about.

Odds are, you've already come to them for favors and help, so secret-sharing shouldn't be out of the question. As you grow up together, you can guide each other through the twists and turns of a young adult life.
