Meeting anyone for the first time can be super weird. You want to get down to the nitty-gritty, but because this is your first time ever meeting them, you have to be polite. However, when you're introduced to your big sister's boyfriend for the first time, you can put politeness aside. Your sister's happiness is at stake here. Needless to say, when it comes down to it, there are some extremely crucial questions to ask your sister's boyfriend. You're getting to know the guy who thinks he's good enough for your best friend in the whole world, so you can cut the crap and get straight to the interrogation phase.

This new guy should honestly be more scared to meet you than your dad because you don't hold anything back. Sure, you're respectful and don't want to scare the poor dude away, but you should have a list of questions prepared. Each one of his answers can tell you a little bit more about him than just the surface details. When you're ready to drill your sister's new SO, here are the 11 questions you must ask.

1. “What Do You Do For A Living?”

As a supportive sister, you might believe this guy should have a steady job. If he doesn't, he better be going to school for one. Your sister doesn't have time to deal with someone who's a professional couch potato. He should be treating your sister to the nice dates she deserves; she shouldn't be the one who's treating him every single time.

2. “What Do You Do For Fun?”

This will tell you a lot about his interests and what he does in his free time. If he only says things like, "play video games" or "watch TV," you might have to question how much this guy gets out of the house. Also, most of us watch TV, so that answer is totally lame, especially if it's not followed up with solid examples of shows he actually watches.

3. “What Are Your Friends Like?”

This is a little secret question to see if this dude actually has good friends. If he hesitates, that might be a red flag. You also want to see how he describes his friends. The friends you keep and how you treat them tell a lot about who you are as a person.

4. “What's Your Favorite Thing About My Sister?”

You're looking for deep answers and nothing superficial. Sure, he can think your sister is beautiful because she obviously is, but that shouldn't be his favorite thing about her. This answer also shouldn't feel insincere. I'm looking for an honest answer, and can certainly tell when he's faking it.

5. “What Did You Guys Do On Your First Date?”

This one is to see how the guy is at planning out dates. He should have planned something romantic, cute, and thoughtful. Your sister is royalty and should be treated as such.

6. “How Did You Two Meet?”

Online dating is obviously a fine answer, but you better have some sort of cute story as to why you chose each other. What made your sister stand out to him? The meet cute is extremely important.

7. “What's Your Family Like?”

Just like how you can tell a lot about a guy in how he talks about his friends, you can also tell a lot about a person from how they talk about their family. If all goes well, this dude's family may be part of your family one day. So, take note of how he talks about them and treats them.

8. “What's Your Favorite Movie?”

It has to be a good movie. If he names off some action film that has like a zero percent on Rotten Tomatoes, you seriously have to question this guy's taste. Sure, he has great taste in people because he chose the queen who is your sister, but if he has lame taste in movies, you may wonder if people are the only thing he's good at picking.

9. “What's Your Favorite Food?”

He better have good taste in food as well. He'll get major brownie points if he's an awesome chef and cooks homemade meals on the regular. You want him to be taking your sister out on nice dinner dates, right?

10. “Do You Have A Facebook?”

This question is strictly for stalking purposes. Whatever additional info you can't get out of him when you first meet him, you can always get later on social media. If he has no social media presence, the digging will be a lot more difficult.

11. “So, Like, Did You See This Thing On The News?”

This question is a sneaky way to see what his political views are. You can also get a taste of how much of a feminist he is. Make it sound like there is no right or wrong answer, but believe me, there is.
