No One Fangirled Over Michael Phelps More Than The US Men's Basketball Team

by Adam Silvers

Watching Kevin Durant, DeAndre Jordan and several other prominent members of the US men's basketball team attend and celebrate the victories of US swimmers Katie Ledecky and Michael Phelps Tuesday night was beyond awesome.

In fact, I'd go as far as to say it was the perfect embodiment of the Olympic spirit.

Sure, the athletes competing at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio should be focused, first and foremost, on winning the events they're participating in, but the Olympics are all about patriotism and unity.

What better way to get an entire nation to show support than by having some of the biggest athletes on the planet show they're not too cool for school and they're just as excited as we are about watching Olympians like Michael Phelps and Katie Ledecky swim.

Following Phelps' wins in the 200-meter butterfly and 4x200 meter freestyle relay, he and his US teammates were congratulated by Kevin Durant and several other members of the US men's basketball team.

Not only did KD and co. give daps after the race, but they were also in the crowd cheering on Michael Phelps as he vanquished rival swimmer Chad le Clos and won yet another gold medal.
