Cats Trick Owners Into Making Them Cozy Little Squares With Viral ‘Prank’
In a belated celebration of National Pet Day, let's talk about cats for a hot second.
Even if you identify as a dog person, you have to at least acknowledge how weird and hilarious cats can be.
Like, have you ever come home to find your dog hanging by its claws halfway up your living room curtains — or watched in hysterics as your pup tried to navigate something as simple as a cardboard box?
Even if you somehow managed to catch your dog doing either of those things, I'll bet you've never seen any dog do this:
Earlier this week, Twitter user Danielle Matheson discovered yet another one of the hilariously entertaining things you can do to troll your cat.
She tweeted a text from her mom, which read,
So pinterest says if you put a square on the floor the cat will get in it.
Matheson also made sure to include proof of her mom's successful endeavor:
And, because it's the internet, anyone and everyone with a cat had to try out this prank for themselves and share their experiences with Matheson.
Why are you mad though?! Just enjoy how inexplicably derpy your feline friend is.
Some kitties refused to fall for it at first...
...but eventually, no cat could resist ~the square~ and its power. Maybe they're the ones tricking us?
This cat legit looks like it was possessed into standing inside the square, which means there's definitely some black magic going on here.
Although, not everyone's cats fell for the prank...
...some had more willpower to resist than others.

Circles apparently have a mysterious hold over kitties, too...
