'Wonder Woman' Didn't Get A Single Golden Globe Nomination & Fans Are Not Happy
The 2018 Golden Globes nominations are here, and just as everyone expected, shows like Game of Thrones, This Is Us, Big Little Lies, and Stranger Things snagged a bunch nominations in the TV categories. The Disaster Artist, Get Out, Lady Bird, and Call Me By Your Name were just some of the films nominated, but fans are pissed that one movie in particular didn't get any love: Wonder Woman. Yup, it wasn't nominated for anything at all. Wonder Woman's Golden Globes snub has fans so furious, seeing as it was one of the most popular movies of the year. Being one of the most feminist films of the year as well, people feel the film wasn't given its due. Before we dive into the fan reactions to Wonder Woman's Golden Globes snub, let's cover our Golden Globes basics.
First of all, this year's show is the 75th in the show's history. We can probably expect some sentimental speeches about the history of the show, and maybe even some throwback clips from the show's past. Seth Meyers is set to host. In a statement regarding the decision to have Meyers host, The Hollywood Foreign Press Association president, Meher Tatna, said,
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is excited to have Seth Meyers host the 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards. With his natural comedic wit and innate ability to charm audiences, Seth will help us carry on the celebratory tradition of recognizing the best in television and film at the Party of the Year.
The 75th annual Golden Globes will be broadcast on Sunday, Jan. 7 on NBC at 8 p.m. EST. You can stream it live at nbc.com/live, but you'll need a cable login in order to watch. If you don't have one, watch it with a friend who does, borrow login information from a friend or family member, or you could even try watching it at a bar. If all else fails, Hulu will most likely post the show the following morning. But let's get back to Wonder Woman.
Fans are pissed Wonder Woman didn't get any Golden Globe nominations.
Honestly, Wonder Woman deserved better. Gal Gadot deserved better. Patty Jenkins deserved better.
