What Justin Bieber's Mom Said About Selena Gomez Will Make You Swoon

Jelena is back on, folks, and it looks like the couple received the seal of approval from another leading lady in the "Friends" singer's life. Justin Bieber's mom said Selena Gomez is "precious," so of course we're freaking out over this exciting declaration. This is a strong word choice, so we'll go ahead and assume that things are pretty serious between the two lovebirds.

Bieber's mom, Pattie Mallette, was questioned about her son's relationship on Dec. 9 during the Justice Speaks Holiday Luncheon benefit in L.A., according to PEOPLE. Though at first she was reluctant to say anything too specific about their bond, she did say,

I don’t know so much about their personal relationship because he doesn’t share a whole lot, but I love her. I support anything [he does], if he loves her I love her, and I’ve met her and we have a special bond so I think she’s precious. I can’t really speak on their relationship, that’s between them.

A special bond and precious? What a mouthful, Ms. Mallette. Dare we say she is one step closer to calling Gomez her daughter-in-law? It certainly seems like wedding bells could possibly ring in the not-so-distant future, right? We'll just sit here and keep our fingers crossed. Though somewhat tight-lipped about her son's love life, Mallette did also comment on Bieber's lifestyle. She said,

I think he’s just keeping his focus on God, and really trying to figure out what counts and what matters. I think he’s trying to be somehow normal in such an abnormal world, trying to find that balance. I feel like he’s growing up and I’m really proud of him.

Now that he's had this change of heart, it certainly seems like Gomez matters quite a bit, huh? This all started when the two began to "reconnect" earlier this year, completely shoving Gomez's relationship with The Weeknd into a distant memory (sorry Abel). A source told Us Weekly,

Selena and Justin have reconnected because they have gone through similar stuff in the past couple years with being physically and mentally exhausted from touring and just dealing with the anxiety and pressure of growing up in the public eye. They have always had a strong connection, and they are leaning on each other as friends. They are both there for each other to talk and support one another.

And support they have — from church visits, to weekend breakfasts, to bike rides, to hockey games, to steamy smooches. Talk about that PDA. That is a wonderful kind of "support" system.

Though things seem peachy keen, it appears that Gomez's family hasn't been quite as enthusiastic about this rekindled romance. Unlike Mallette, they're apparently still warming up to this idea. A source told E! News Gomez feels it's too soon to mix her relationship and her family. The source said,

Selena felt it was too soon for Justin to come to Texas with her. Her family is still getting comfortable with the idea of them back together. Justin says he hopes he can spend Christmas with her but knows that it will take a very long time for her family to accept him back in.

So there might be a few roadblocks here and there, but it certainly doesn't seem like their love is slowing down any time soon (just the opposite, in fact). Well, whatever happens, Jelena fans will sit by patiently and accept whatever will be — provided that is an engagement.
