Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are engaged! Prince Charles made the announcement in an official statement from Clarence House (his official residence) on Monday, Nov. 27, saying the couple got engaged earlier this month after first getting together in 2016. Markle was the victim of some serious tabloid and troll hate when her and Harry's relationship went public. It's unfortunately par for the course with any celebrity that their personal lives will be the victim of constant media scrutiny, and when it comes to the royal family, a lot of false stories are reported about their lives. Normally, Prince William and Prince Harry don't publicly react to the barrage of false stories printed about them. But Prince Harry's statement regarding media coverage about Meghan Markle showed just how much it was negatively affecting their lives. Part of the November 2016 statement read,

Yeah! Don't mess with my favorite celebrity couple, do you hear me?! PROTECT HARRY AND MEGHAN AT ALL COSTS.
