Some People Believe Sandra Bland Is Already Dead In Her Mugshot

by John Haltiwanger

The controversial and mysterious case of Sandra Bland has a lot of people very confused.

I ended today with more questions Abt the #SandraBland case than when I started the day... — Charles M. Blow (@CharlesMBlow) July 23, 2015

On July 10, Bland was arrested for allegedly becoming combative during a routine traffic stop in Waller County, Texas.

Disturbing footage from the dash cam of the officer involved in the arrest, however, has legal experts suggesting she was unjustifiably taken into custody.

What's more, some believe the dash cam footage was edited, an assertion police refute.

Police claim they found Bland dead in her jail cell three days after she was arrested. They contend she committed suicide by hanging herself with a plastic bag.

Prison workers also claimed Bland told them she'd attempted suicide in the past year.

The circumstances and claims surrounding her death, however, have been continuously challenged by her friends and family.

Online activists are also contesting what the police are claiming and demanding further inquiries. Bland was about to start a new job and, according to family, was a mentally strong person. Why would someone with so much going for her take her own life?

This is precisely the question driving much of the nation's attention to this case.

Not to mention, in the wake of a number of high-profile police killings, there is currently widespread distrust against police officers across the country.

Bland's death is being treated like a murder investigation, and there is a great deal of speculation as to what really happened.

Correspondingly, over the past 24 hours or so, many have taken to Twitter to discuss a disturbing theory that says Bland was actually dead at the time her mugshot was taken.

This theory that Sandra Bland was dead in her mugshot is really too much for me to handle mentally and emotionally. — #SandraBland (@SimoneOnSports) July 22, 2015

So, if #SandraBland was dead in the mugshot (I believe she was) her body could have been easily adjusted to make her look "alive". — RN (@DopeEthiopian) July 23, 2015
Haunted by the Sandra Bland 'dead in mugshot' theory, seriously. — jamilah (@JamilahLemieux) July 23, 2015

No official reports appear to validate this theory.

With that said, there are a lot of questions yet to be answered in the Sandra Bland case, and people are, quite understandably, demanding answers.

Until we have all the facts, we can't make any comprehensive conclusions.

But it's safe to say this is one of the most unsettling cases in recent memory, and a young woman, loved deeply by friends and family, departed from this world far too early.
