These Pro-Trump Militias Are Proof Things Won't Calm Down After Election Day

Election day is just days away.

After two years of exhaustive campaigning and leaked recordings and xenophobic warmongering and manic pandering on all sides, we are finally standing before the ornamental gates of our future.

And, if Hillary wins, it is looking like there is going to be some very sore losing.

In Georgia, there is a militia group called the “Three Percent Security Force,” which is gearing up to take possibly violent retaliatory action if, as they describe it, Hillary succeeds in “stealing the election.”

We are going to really train harder and try to increase our operational capabilities in the event that this is the day that we hoped would never come.

The group, according to Reuters for Mail Online, has 276 active members. And it is only one of hundreds of armed "anti-government" groups currently active in the country.

The militia has openly begun military training exercises in Jackson, Georgia, to prepare themselves for the possibility of Hillary winning:

We've building up for this, just like the Marines.

They say that they do not intend to fire the first shot, but they won't "leave their guns at home either."

Which is a lot like dousing a barn with gasoline, holding up a lit match and saying you're not going to be the one to start the fire.

It should come as little surprise that we are seeing this sort of thing. After all, each time Donald Trump drops in the polls, he accuses Clinton of rigging the results. He does, of course, not mention this fact when his numbers are rising.

And considering that the armed takeover of a federal wildlife refuge in Oregon somehow resulted in acquittals on all conspiracy charges, we've emboldened groups like this to take similar action.

Now, depending on which side you're on, when election day comes around and your candidate wins, you might feel a sense of relief, of victory, or ease.

If so, you'd be exceptionally naive.

I want to be clear here: Whoever wins, we lose.

And I'm not saying that because both candidates are “extremely bad” or anything. I don't believe that. I'm saying that because the fact of the matter is we've already lost.

The damage has been done.

Not for a generation has this country seen such a downward spiral to hatred, polarization and aggression.

This election has drawn the line in the sand so deep, members from either side will fall into it if they try to cross it.

And with Donald Trump courting the white nationalist vote, among others, we've collectively, through partisan fever, made essentially forced nearly 45 percent of the country to align themselves with openly racist and violent rhetoric — or else be branded as party traitors.

It is, in a word or two, an utter bummer.

As Reuters reports, the Southern Poverty Law Center, a non-profit that keeps tracks of domestic extremists, "identified nearly 1,000 'anti-government' groups in the nation."

Chris Hill (pictured above with a cigarette and a sunhat), is the leader of the “Three Percent Security Force” and has said, “This is the last chance to save America from ruin.”

Hill then went on to add,

I'm surprised I was able to survive or suffer through eight years of Obama without literally going insane, but Hillary is going to be more of the same.

Yeah, you're in the woods, armed to the teeth, threatening to take military action against, if elected, the president of the united states, because a reality star told you she's the devil.

That doesn't sound "insane" at all.
