The Russian Army's Version Of 'Barbie Girl' Is Surprisingly Intense (Video)

The song "Barbie Girl," by Aqua, was released in 1997. For those of you who are not amazing at math, that was 18 years ago. If that song was a person, it'd be old enough to join the Russian army by now.

Either Russia just has an 18-year delay on all of our top 40 hits, or one of the Russian army's hipsters suggested this song ironically.

Whatever the reason, one thing is clear: Somehow these guys make this song sound tough as hell.

I mean imagine being on the battlefield and hearing a hundred Russian soldiers chanting in unison: “...LIFE IS PLASTIC! ...IT’S FANTASTIC!”

I guess after the fall of the Soviet Union, Russia has finally really come around to embracing America’s consumerist lifestyle.

Capitalism always wins, eventually.
