Work is boring. It just is. I'm at work right now and I'm bored. I'm bored while being paid to write about how I am bored. Although to be fair, that's probably because, at this point, the only things that aren't boring to me are Netflix, being drunk and sex -- in that order.
I think in most jobs you're pretty much paid according to how well you can maintain concentration while being bored out of your mind. Look at finance. That sh*t is all just fancy accounting with a bit of cocaine sprinkled on it.
Being bored at work is pretty much the worst feeling in the world, ESPECIALLY if you hate your job. Seriously, I've had jobs that were so mindless I legit thought I was going to have a boredom-induced heart attack. I felt like the blood in my veins was turning to Jell-O I was so bored.
But I survived. And so can you.
I made a flow chart showing you what to do when you find yourself in a boredom-hell at work. These are your options.
