Manon Posts A Statement After Removing KATSEYE From Her IG Bio
EYEKONS are seriously worried about her future with the group.
Every Directioner remembers that fateful day in 2015 when Zayn Malik left One Direction, just like how Harmonizer can still recall the shock of Camila Cabello leaving Fifth Harmony in 2016. Now, it’s starting to looks like KATSEYE may be the next pop group on the verge of possibly shedding a member. A little over a month after HYBE and Geffen announced Manon Bannerman’s hiatus from the girl group in February, she removed “KATSEYE” from her Instagram bio and was also notably absent from the band’s April 2 promo video for their single “Pinky Up.”
EYEKONs have been on high alert since Feb. 20, when KATSEYE’s label shared that Bannerman was taking a break from the musical act for “her health and wellbeing.” “After open and thoughtful conversations together, we are sharing that Manon will be taking a temporary hiatus from group activities to focus on her health and wellbeing,” HYBE x Geffen wrote at the time. “Katseye remains committed to showing up for one another and for the fans who mean everything to us. The group will continue scheduled activities during this time, and we look forward to being together again when the time is right.”
Bannerman’s absence really hit the fans in early April. Shortly after the other five KATSEYE members all had featured roles in the teaser for their upcoming “Pinky Up” video, Bannerman deleted “KATSEYE” from her Instagram bio, seemingly hinting at cutting ties.
However, Bannerman reassured EYEKONS that she has been having “positive conversations” with HYBE x Geffen, and that she would go into more detail on the situation in the near future.
“Thank you so much for all the love and support you've been sending my way,” Bannerman wrote via WeVerse DMs on April 2. “I'm really grateful for the patience and kindness everyone has shown during this time. HxG and I are having positive conversations and I feel supported. I'm happy and I'm healthy. I'll share more soon. Thank you for always being there for me.”
