These 2 Characters Just Split On 'Game Of Thrones,' But Is It Really The End?

This post contains spoilers from Game Of Thrones Season 7, Episode 5. Ever since Jon Snow arrived in Dragonstone, fans have been waiting with barely-concealed impatience for him and Dany to realize they're both Targaryens, for Jon to ride a dragon, for the two to fall in love. But it seems like this trip, that's just not in the cards. Instead, after some lively debate, Daenerys and Jon Snow split on Game Of Thrones.

He's leaving Dragonstone and head back north on a mission to find a live wight and prove his tales of the Army of the Dead. And she's staying home, to... actually, I'm not really sure what Dany's plan is. She's BBQ'ed Cersei's army into ashes. She's not going to take King's Landing while Jon's gone. She's just going to chill at home... waiting? That seems like a terrible way to spend several days, pacing the castle, checking endlessly for ravens and pretending you're not actually worried.

Meanwhile, the group that Jon's taking north isn't a bad one. He's got Jorah the Explorah, who apparently, having survived greyscale, thinks he's immortal now. He's got Davos, who will probably crank the whole way that Jon's putting himself in needless danger. And he's got Gendry, because why the hell not?

Meanwhile, Dany and Jon are at least parting cute. Jon self-deprecatingly says at least she won't be annoyed by the King in the North to kick around anymore if he fails. Meanwhile she admits she's "gotten used to him." Aw.

Heading north, we have to hope that Jon and his tiny party manage to catch a wight without getting any attention. At least, that's my assumption of why they're such a small party. But reaching the Wall, it turns out there's a few more they'll pick up along the way. Tormund, for one, isn't getting left out of the fun. Davos on the other hand, will stay at the Castle.

And he's got a few prisoners who might want to come too: the Brotherhood! Here's the Hound, Thoros, and Beric, all bundled up and ready to follow the visions Northward, if Jon will let them.

It's a funny party that's banned together, none of whom like or trust each other very much. But for Dany's sake, let's hope they all make it back, in one piece and a wight ready for display in the King's Landing Museum of Horrors of the North.
