This Huge Twist With Alexandra On 'The Defenders' Has Fans Losing It
This post contains REALLY BIG spoilers for Episode 6 of Marvel's The Defenders. WHEW. So if you've been binging Marvel's The Defenders on Netflix this weekend, you might know by now that Episode 6 has a freakin' insane ending. AKA, Elektra goes all Brutus on Sigourney Weaver and stabs her in the back. Like, literally, Elektra stabs Alexandra in the back with a pitchfork. And now fans are left hanging with one question: Is Alexandra dead on The Defenders?
I think it's safe to say that yes, Alexandra is dead. I mean did you see all that blood? You don't exactly live through that, unless you're Deadpool or Wolverine. But the question is — will she come back to life?
We already know that The Hand has a way of cheating death, and we already know that Alexandra has died several times before. She said as much to Elektra (AKA actress Élodie Yung), after she used the substance to resurrect Elektra. So assuming there is more "substance," it does seem likely that The Hand could resurrect Alexandra.
But will they? I'm not so sure. Sigourney Weaver is, after all, a very famous and busy women. She ain't got time for a million more seasons of The Defenders, she has Oscars to win.
Of course, it has even been confirmed that there will be any more seasons of Defenders yet, and things aren't looking so good for a Season 2 right now.
Marvel TV Head, Jeph Loeb said in an interview at Comic Con last month,
I don't know. We haven't really gotten to that place. I don't know that there will be a Defenders #2.
So yeah, sorry Sigourney fans, but I think this might be the last time you see Ripely in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But hey, now you've got the badass Elektra taking over as the evil villain, so that's pretty good, right?
