Will Selena Gomez Be At The VMAs To Support The Weeknd? Fans Hope So

Selena Gomez isn't nominated for any VMAs for her two singles this year, but her boyfriend The Weeknd is up for five awards and is slated to perform during the show. Given all of that, fans are wondering if we're going to see Selena Gomez at the VMAs to support The Weeknd. It's definitely a possibility, seeing as it's going to be a big night for The Weeknd and Gomez has made a habit of going to a lot of his shows on the Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour.

But she does have a history of not going to the VMAs. Last year, the VMAs were right around the same time of her Instagram feud with her ex, Justin Bieber. After some social media sparring, the two didn't post online for a while. By the time of the 2016 VMAs — where Bieber was up for three awards and Gomez was up for Song of the Summer — Bieber was seen in Mexico with Sofia Richie and Gomez was about to go back on tour on in Canada. Both were a no-show.

But Gomez is likely over all of that petty drama now. And she has a new man to focus on, so I'm willing to bet that Gomez will be at the 2017 VMAs to support The Weeknd. They have a very public relationship now, after all, so it's not like they're trying to hide anything. They also haven't appeared on a red carpet together since the 2017 Met Gala, so this would be a nice chance for another couple moment.
