Classic Mariah Carey Throws Shade At Demi Lovato By Pretending To Not Know Her

Today's lesson? Never mess with Mariah Carey.

The 46-year-old singer is notorious for throwing shade and speaking her mind, so it isn't too surprising she had some not-so-nice words for Demi Lovato.

While appearing on "Watch What Happens Live," on December 18, the singer was asked three questions, and she could either answer or plead the fifth.

Obviously, Mariah spilled the beans on everything.

At one point, host Andy Cohen asked the diva a pretty juicy question. He said,

Demi Lovato, I didn't know this, she kind of shaded you on social media. She made assumptions about Ariana Grande, and she said, 'Mariah's a legend and she's so talented but she disses people. It's nasty the way she treats Jennifer [Lopez].' What would you say to Demi?

Let me take you back to June 2016 when the madness started. I'm talking about beef that happened SIX MONTHS AGO. Yeah, Mariah doesn't forget.

Last summer, someone on the internet made a meme of Mariah Carey next to Ariana Grande with the caption,

When you order it online vs. when it arrives

Demi Lovato decided to get involved in the matter — even though no one asked her to — and defended Ariana on Instagram.

The "Confident" singer's meme made it seem as if Ariana Grande is a cheap imitation of Mariah Carey and will never live up to her name. However, Demi reposted the meme on Insta and told fans it's the other way around.

According to Us Weekly, Demi allegedly added,

Mariah is a legend and is so talented but constantly disses people. It's nasty the way she treats Jennifer [Lopez]. Ari did nothing wrong.

DAMN, DEMI. That's pretty bad.

Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez have a rocky history together, including the time Mariah was asked a question about JLo and she answered, "I don't know her."

But, uhhh, does that give Demi the right to step in and comment? Hmm, not so sure.

So, what was Mariah's response to all of this? Well, she told Andy,

I don't know her either, and so I wouldn't say anything to her. She should come up, introduce herself to me, say, 'Here's my opinion, what do you think about it?' That's how you handle shit, OK?

OH, SHIT. Sorry, Demi... I think the queen just won.
