Why Spring Is The Absolute Best Time To Be Single

by Jamie LeeLo

Hello and welcome, singles of the universe, to the best time of year to be you -- SPRING!

There is no better time to run around as a single person, as most everything you can think of is finally back in your favor.

Forget the cold, winter nights spent passing out early on the couch, and ignore the impending chafing heat of summer. For just a few, short weeks, this is your time to shine and date like a maniac.

Here is why spring is the best time of year to be free of any relationship strings and explore the benefits of flying solo:

Everyone is emerging from their winter slumber, which means more possibilities.

Picture your favorite bar in the dead of winter. At 4 pm, it's already dark outside, the temperature has dropped and any potential hotties are probably at home, shoving their faces full of Chinese takeout and binge-watching Netflix.

Now, picture that bar on a fresh, spring afternoon. Likely, there's outside seating available, the windows are open and the place is PACKED due to everyone's desire to finally be social again.

Spring is the time that the boys are literally back in town, and singles everywhere emerge from their winter slumber to embrace the longer days and hotter (read: sexier) nights.

Fashion is back in your favor.

Sure, we all love a good oversized sweater and scarf that doubles as a blanket, but winter isn't the most flattering time of year.

Spring is the perfect season to break out your innate sense of style again, as the weather isn't too hot that you have to skim by on shrunken shorts and sweaty tank tops, nor do you need to wrap yourself in a down comforter just to go outside.

The universally flattering jeans and a white t-shirt are IN right now, baby, and so are any festive, eye-grabbing patterns and colors you can use as your own personal plumage to attract the opposite sex.

It's mating season, lovebirds!

Winter is finally over, and everyone is horny AF. Humans and animals alike use this time of year to go forth into the blooming world and mate, mate, mate.

Sex drives are high after spending the past few months suffering from a Vitamin D deficiency and sleeping as much as possible, and the sudden boosts in energy have to be released SOMEHOW.

Use this opportunity to go out there, see what butterflies have emerged from their winter cocoons and then (mutual consent pending), shag, baby, shag!

It's time to get healthy (AND boost your libido).

Humans have evolved to use the warmer seasons as a signal that it's time to get healthy and active again.

Even I can admit a gooey, dripping, hot bowl of cheese and bread is more tempting when it's 30 degrees outside than on a lovely, balmy, 70-degree afternoon. (And I LOVE a hot bowl of cheese and bread.)

Capitalize on increased energy and use this time of year as a reason to get back in shape for the impending swimsuit season. Hitting the gym and eating healthy will not only have you looking fierce to potential partners and get your confidence soaring, but it will also boost your libido.

A healthy bod leads to a healthy libido. And a healthy libido means a healthy sex life and LOTS of banging. IT'S MATH!

There's a greater range of date activities at your disposal

Rooftop bar? You got it. Paddle boating on the lake? You got it. Eating ice cream while strolling down the street and listening to the birds chirp? You got it. Moonlight make-out session on the beach? Hike in the forest? Picnic in the park? You got it, you got it, you got it.

In the colder months, activities are more likely to be pushed indoors, and summer is a tricky time, depending on how sweltering the heat can get, leaving you stuck in doing things that only involve water activities or air conditioning.

In the spring, however, your date activity options are literally endless, making your weekends jam-packed full of cuties and adventures.

Go forth, ye of little commitment. Explore the sunshine, your sexuality and whatever that new Juice place is around the corner.

It's your time to shine, date and bone.
