What It Means To Have A Sex Dream About Your Celebrity Crush

A while ago, I collaborated with famed dream expert, Lauri Loewenberg, to decode any and all of your freakiest sex dreams.  And I've had a guilty conscience about it ever since.

I know there are far freakier sex dreams than the 22 general concepts that are mentioned on that list. We all have deeply personal, weirdly detailed dreams that we sometimes just can't seem to shake out of our heads.

Like, WHY did you dream about that guy from the grocery store yesterday? WHY was he wearing a top hat and nothing else?! What does it mean? Do you have to tell your boyfriend? Are you actually into the weird grocery store guy?!

So, I've decided to start a column. You guys can submit your sex dreams to sexdreamsanalyzed@elitedaily.com, and we will have Lauri interpret one dream a week.

This week's dream submission is from 32-year-old Nicole* who keeps having dreams about her rather controversial celebrity crush:

I'm always having sexual dreams about Chris Brown, the celebrity. I love Chris Brown and I'm hoping to meet him one day. In my dreams, we are really good friends. What does this mean?

Here's Lauri's interpretation:

If you're really crushing on someone, they are on your mind (and take up a good deal of your iTunes playlist) and then you dream about them, well... your subconscious may simply be exploring and expressing that which you desire. But don't worry. I'm not going to leave you with just that. There might actually be a deeper meaning to these dreams, and here's how you figure that out. First, you need to keep track of when you have them. In particular, you need to carefully examine what happened the day before you had the dream. If you dream of Chris Brown tonight, for example, you need to look closely at what happened today: What sort of conversations did you have? What did you struggle with? What did you accomplish? What affected you the most? What was on your mind the most? This may help you find what's triggering the dreams. Then, you need to ask yourself what first comes to mind when you think of Chris Brown. Is it a particular song? If so, does the title or the lyrics of the song seem to fit a particular issue in your life right now? If so, that's why you dreamed about him. There's a message for you in that song. To figure out why a celebrity is in your dream, ask yourself what comes to mind when you think of them. That's a good rule of thumb, by the way, to figure out why a celebrity is in your dream. Ask yourself what first comes to mind when you think of them. Is it a movie? Does the name of the movie or anything about the movie seem to correlate to some aspect of you and your life right now? Is it a character they play? Do you currently identify with that character? If you give it enough thought, you should be able to connect the dots. In addition to the sexual content of the dreams, you are also really good friends with him. That's another clue. Even though you may think it would be the most amazing thing ever to hang out with him (and do the nasty with him), in real life, your subconscious is using the friendship in your dream to let you know there's something about Chris you identify with, either in his personality, in his life or in one of his songs, that you really like about yourself. Remember, look at what was going on in your life and in your mind the day before the dream, and you'll figure it out. And in the meantime, enjoy. Dream sex is the safest sex there is!
