How To Make This New Year’s Eve Your Best New Year’s Eve Ever

by Ally Batista

Everyone is eagerly anticipating the New Year tonight.  Drinks will be poured, glitter will be worn in excess, and it’s almost certain that everyone has high expectations for the biggest party night of the year.

The thing is, sometimes these expectations take away from the actual holiday. Because New Year’s Eve is a holiday. It’s a night to celebrate what the past year has brought and what the new year will bring.

Everyone has expectations of having the best night of their lives by sharing the night with loved ones, and partying like they never have before. When these things don’t go according to plan, because let’s face it, that’s life, people upset themselves.

Don’t do that tonight. Make sure that you have the best night by following these simple guidelines:

Don’t Have Super High Expectations

By all means, anticipate having a good night tonight, but if your night does not consist of champagne facials and a wild night, don’t let it ruin your night. I’ve been to way too many New Year’s Eve parties where people end up sulking in the corner because their night wasn’t as great as they thought it would be.

Make it great. The only reason why you would ever have a bad night is because you made it that way.

Focus On Having Fun

That being said, focus on having fun. Forget about any drama, forget about how outrageous the even you’re at will be, and just have fun. Laugh, smile, drink, dance, do whatever you can to make sure that you’re ultimately ringing in the New Year in high spirits.

Realize, That It’s Just Another Night

Yes, New Year’s Eve only happens once a year, but in reality, it’s just another night. Don’t put New Year’s Eve on this huge pedestal and you’ll guaranteed have a much better night.

So go out tonight and don’t seriously think of anything. Focus on having a good time with your friends and accept the fact that you can still have tons of fun without your night competing with Project X-esque parties.

Ring in the New Year with a smile on your face, because what’s even the point of going out if you’re going to get disappointed?
