Things have improved over the past century regarding equal rights for genders, ethnicity, etc.

However, the U.S. still has a long way to go. Women are still struggling for equality, and most would be surprised to know that they have fewer rights than one might think.

Women still do not benefit from the ERA, which states that equality of rights under the law shall not be denied by the United States or any state on account of sex.

When you think about it, some may have assumed that this was already a guarantee. Nevertheless, the ERA is still not ratified as it has only achieved 35 out the 38 state-approvals it needs. That clearly needs to change.
