Sketchers New Teen Shoe Line Causes Controversy

Wedge sneakers are an obvious trend right now, so it was only a matter of time before Sketchers hopped on board. By all means, keep your business going by incorporating high fashion trends into your business plan, but their marketing technique here was a bit… questionable.

The line of wedged sneakers is called "Daddy’$ Money." No, really. I should just end the article right here. The ad for the line is 31 seconds long and manages to promote irresponsible spending and ugly wedges sneakers.

Sketchers doesn’t seem to believe that their line’s name, or ads, are offensive and released the statement, “The Daddy’$ Money name and the collection’s advertising are designed to be fun and lighthearted. We regret that some people have been offended by the name.”

The name is just stupid, the ad looks like a 12-year-old using Photoshop for the first time created it and I for one am just shocked that Sketchers even still exists. What do you guys think about this?
