Sarah Jessica Parker was made famous for her role as Carrie Bradshaw in the celebrated and influential television show, "Sex and the City." Her character was a clothing and designer shoe obsessed girl living in New York City.

Her former role has stayed with the actress throughout the years and now, it’s leading to a new business venture. Sarah Jessica Parker is finally designing her own shoe collection. She made the announcement of her launching line via Vogue, 15 years to the day after "Sex and the City" premiered on HBO.

The actress is launching SJP, a line of shoes, bags and “a few trenches.” She’s creating the line with George Malkemus, the CEO of the brand her character made a household name: Manolo Blahnik. How perfectly fitting.

According to Vogue, SJP is looking to old-school labels such as Charles Jourdan and Maud Frizon as sources of inspiration. The shoes are predicted to be in the $200-$300 range and are set to launch exclusively at Nordstrom early next year.

Sarah told Vogue:

“Because I got to play that role, I wore a lot of shoes, and by default I learned an enormous amount. It’s hard to" —no pun intended— “ walk away from that.” Photo Credit: Getty Images
