Forget dressing up like Disney princesses or any other storied damsel in distress.

In artist Eunique Jones' newest photo project, Because We Can, she's having young girls emulate real-life heroines.

The photo series features young girls dressed up as famous feminist figures from the last century, ranging from Hillary Clinton to Frida Kahlo to Malala Yousafzai.

It's only a little funny to see these girls in power poses, donning each subject's signature pearls or unibrow. The real inspiration of the project, however, comes in the quotes that accompany each profile.

Clinton's quote reads:

"I believe that the rights of women and girls is the unfinished business of the 21st century."

Jones' photo series seeks to pick up that work — this particular project is part of a greater effort of the artist to "educate and connect a new generation to heroes who have paved the way."
