Peter Som x Anthropologie

by Ally Batista

It’s been a whopping three days since the news of a high/low designer collaboration has been broken, so of course, we’re way behind on hearing of a new one. Although the news of Anthropologie’s Made in Kind initiative is not new, their latest installment certainly is.

Anthropologie’s latest, and perhaps biggest, collaboration has just been announced, and the lucky designer is Peter Som. His contribution to the not-so-low-priced clothing and home furnishings retailer will consist of 11 colorful, print-filled spring pieces, which were all inspired by “social eccentrics, women of style that had a little something quirky or a little strange about them.” Picture Edie Beale and Diana Vreeland, who Som noted as being examples.

The line consists of a good range of pieces: blouses, skirts, dresses and jackets that give the collection a very feminine vibe, which is perfect for spring/summer. What’s better than throwing on a skirt or dress during the warmer months?

Som describes his collaboration as an “automatic match made in heaven,” saying that Anthropologie and Som’s mutual penchant for print, pattern and color created “really happy clothes.” The collaboration worked out so well that Som is already working on another collaborative line for the fall season, which will include both apparel and accessories.

The spring collection is set to hit stores on May 17 with price points hitting between $128 and $368.
