If you’re anything like me, you’ve been anticipating Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation of The Great Gatsby for the past three years. A die-hard fan of the books, and the first film, I cannot wait to see the modern day version featuring some of my favorite acting talents.

Of course, as a lover of all things fashion, I’m also anticipating the 1920s style designs. The roaring twenties are my favorite years in fashion, and with the costumes being designed by Miuccia Prada, I knew that they would be incredible.

Do we share similar feelings? Would you rather view the film’s costumes rather than the film itself? Can’t wait for May 10th? Well, you’re in luck. A selection of the costumes designed by Miuccia Prada for The Great Gatsby, including women’s gowns, dresses, hats, shoes and jewelry (as well as sketches) are now on view at Prada’s SoHo store, right here in New York City.

The Catherine Martin and Miuccia Prada Dress Gatsby exhibition, on display from May 1-12 (before the exhibit travels to Japan for June 14th) allows you to get up close and personal with the garments to fully appreciate the detail in each piece.

Each garment on display has a placard that sits alongside it, with the full description of the character that wore the piece. Each piece has it’s own back-story; including affairs, careers, personalities, that are all detailed.

The Prada store location is set at 575 Broadway in SoHo, so be sure to travel downtown to catch a glimpse of the beautiful artwork.
