How To Be Stylish At The Beach While On A Budget

by Anonymous

Summer is quickly approaching, which means it's time to start thinking about swimwear. But let's be honest -- we can't always afford to buy brand new swimwear and cover-ups each and every year, especially in this economy. If your funds are limited this season, it's time to get creative. You can still look stylish at the beach without breaking your budget.

Mix and Match

One of the easiest ways to revamp your beach look is to learn how to mix and match the swimwear separates that you already own. For a solid on solid look, a black top paired with a different black bottom is usually a safe bet. Or choose two contrasting colors to get a trendy colorblock effect.

For a solid on print look, try to choose a solid swimwear separate that's reflected in your print of choice; keep in mind that the colors don't have to match up perfectly, as your torso will help break it up and make the combo work. But for a bold and funky Latin-inspired look, go print on print. Think animal prints paired with floral prints, florals paired with paisley prints and stripes paired with polka dots.

Splurge and Save

But if you can afford to buy one new swimwear separate this season, make sure you choose wisely. Look for styles that can be paired with swimwear separates that you already own. Whether you've been eyeing those boho-chic fringe tops, a new animal print bottom or a cheeky-cut bow bikini bottom, make sure to opt for colors that can be easily mixed and matched with swimwear styles already in your closet... then just follow the rules above! And if you're patient enough to search through sale sections, you can find great designer swimwear separates at ridiculously low prices.

Swimwear Accessories are Key

Finally, if all else fails, accessorize! Whether you're dressing for the beach, pool or putting together an everyday ensemble, accessories can turn ordinary outfits into something refreshing and new, especially when it comes to swimwear. Take your lightweight scarf from autumn and fashion it into a sarong or a boho-chic head wrap.

Add a skinny belt to your classic bandeau one-piece to cinch your waist. Throw on some chunky bangles and beaded bracelets for instant beach arm candy. And the most important swimwear accessory there is? Your shades!

You don't have to spend a fortune to look stylish at the beach, so start diggin' through your swimwear wardrobe and get to stylin'!
