Splurge vs. Save: Polka Dot Blouse

Isn’t Gossip Girl week so fun? Splurge vs. Save is one of my favorite posts to write each week, so why not focus this week’s post around my personal style maven, Blair Waldorf? This week’s premiere was certainly eventful.

Unfortunately, it was set at the end of the summer; so many of the outfits (which were to die for) were only appropriate for the season, which has already passed. One of Blair’s blouses, however, would be appropriate for fall transition. Her black and white polka dot Prada wrap blouse completely caught my eye, as it accentuated her already feminine figure.

This type of blouse can be worn with skirts, colored trousers, basically anything. I’d wear a blouse like this at night or make it more day appropriate by adding a blazer.

This Marc by Marc Jacobs Geometric Dot Blouse is amazing. One: it’s designed by Marc Jacobs (I mean obviously it’s amazing), Two: I love the gradient in the colors, the tie, and the material. It’s all beautiful. ($258, Barney’s)

Save

Who doesn’t love a peplum? As a girl who loves ruffles and anything feminine, I adore the peplum trend and am so excited it’s here to stay for another season. ($39, Dorothy Perkins)
