Splurge Vs. Save: Contrast Sleeve Army Jacket

My favorite part about the fall is easily the outerwear. Last week I did a Splurge vs. Save post on contrast-sleeved trench coats. I love the contrast sleeve trend, so why should I limit my posts to one particular style of outerwear?

Military inspired styles are a huge trend for this upcoming fall season. I personally love the military trend, because muted colors (olive greens and browns) are my favorite colors for fall. A must buy article for this fall is a military inspired cargo jacket. A jacket like this is perfect for the crisp fall weather, not too heavy, not too light and I’m all for anything that will make an outfit a little more androgynous.

This Leather Sleeve Oxford Tweed Jacket by 10 Crosby Derek Lam is one of the most beautiful jackets I’ve ever seen. It’s military inspired complete with leather sleeves, tweed with a unique boxy style cut in the back. What’s not to love? (Available at Neiman Marcus, $795.00)

Topshop is without a doubt one of my favorite go-to save stores. The quality of their clothing matches that of higher end brands and the price is always affordable. This Contrast Sleeve Army Jacket is a little more classic military than that of the 10 Crosby Derek Lam jacket, but it still gets the job done. (Available at, the equivalent of $101.12)

Will you buy a contrast sleeve army jacket?
