Nail art is not going anywhere. Sure, it’s evolved throughout the past few years, but it’s still going strong. We’ve experienced accent nails, textured nails, decaled nails, but this latest nail trend is most certainly… different.
Women have been seen wearing “wigs” on their nails. Maybe not wigs, but some kind of feather/fur accent attached to a nail. Now, we’ve seen it all. These nail accents are particularly popular amongst the women who get their services done at Mars the Salon of West Hollywood.
Imagine one of those trolls from your childhood, plucking their hair off, and gluing it onto your ring finger nail. That’s exactly the concept behind this design. I have to say, I just don’t understand.
Not only is this design not in the least bit flattering, but how can they be considered even remotely practical. An accent such as this one would only pick up all kinds of dirt and debris, and would stay wet for an uncomfortable bit of time after you wash your hands.
The only people I could see proudly rocking this nail accent are the likes of Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha, but for everyday, normal people, not so much?
What do you think?
