On Growing Your Hair Out

We’ve all had moments where we’ve thought that we’d look super cute with a short bob, or have been so frustrated with our dead ends that we impulsively tell our hair dressers to chop off more inches than we had originally desired.

You may go through several different stages of separation anxiety with your severed locks, unless of course you come to find that you were meant to have a short haircut, in which case I commend you on being able to pull something off that I never could.

For those of you who are not blessed with the confidence or bone structure to rock a short haircut, you’re in luck. There are multiple ways to speed up the growing process. Here are a few useful tips:

Try to avoid breakage as much as possible. Although your hair does grow directly from the root, if you’re anything like me, you pull and pick at your split ends until you’re pulling your hair out (metaphorically, but seriously, sometimes..). Try brushing your hair with a wide tooth comb gently to avoid serious breakage. Also, use products, natural ones though. Moroccan Oil is an incredible product. When applied to split ends, it helps keeping your ends moisturized and prevents further breakage.

Sulfate free shampoo is also a godsend. Once your hair is free of harsh chemicals that damage your precious locks, it will be free to grow back healthier. With the aid of your natural hair oils (chemicals dry your natural oils out) you’ll have thicker and longer hair in no time.

Make sure your hair is hydrated. This is not only necessary through the use of hydrating shampoos, but make sure you’re drinking copious amounts of water throughout the day (one ounce of water per pound you weigh is a good code to follow). Not only does this improve your overall health, it’s been proven to aid in hair and nail growth while giving you a natural grow. Who doesn’t want that?

Exercise. No really. When one exercises they get their blood pumping, which aids in hair growth. At this rate, growing out your hair can help to seriously improve your health.

Finally, Biotin. Biotin is a super potent vitamin supplement that supports the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins for energy use. It also helps support healthy skin and hair. Biotin is actually a miracle product and does significantly aid in hair growth; trust me.

So those are my hair growth tips. Try them, and see if they work.
