The 10 Most Outrageous, But Shadily True, Sports Rumors

by Julian Sonny

As much as fans love and respect the athletes who can compete and win championships, it's always the ones who f*ck up the most that we remember. America loves its scandals and pro sports stars have been providing us with just that for years now.

A ton of skill, plus millions of dollars and beautiful women everywhere always equates disaster. Or pure awesomeness. If one thing is for certain, it's definitely one of the two, as there is no middle ground.

From banging a teammate's wife to being yayed out throughout the entire playoffs, these guys don't give a flying f*ck. Sure any champion can win a title back-to-back, but how will they react when they fall?

Jut as much as we love to see someone sink low, we love to see them get back up better than ever. The underdog is always everyone's favorite and when one can achieve this, then they surely deserve all of the respect and credit in the world.

If not then they are exactly like so many who have fallen before they have. No one said the spotlight was easy. Sometimes money makes you act funny and things will always change after that. For better or for worse, these are 10 most outrageous, but shadily true, sports rumors of all time.

Tony Parker was swinging with Brent Barry and his wife

Rumor has it that Tony Parker had an affair with his then teammate Brent Barry’s wife back in 2010. This is what was said to be the driving force behind his split with actress wife Eva Longoria.

Barry, who has a front office position with the team, still deals with Parker daily. And now as TP heads into the Finals, they may be celebrating another title win together. Awkward much?

Steve Nash’s wife had a baby with one of his teammates

It was no secret that Steve Nash's first child came out looking a little more mixed than usual. That's probably because his wife, Alejandra Amarilla Menrath, was said to have been hooking up with one of his teammates.

The teammate involved was said to be none other than sixth man Leandro Barbosa. More evidence comes from the fact that he was unknowingly traded around the time Nash and his wife split. Shady to say the least.

Orlando Cabrera left the Red Sox for trying to bang all of his teammates' wives

Red Sox shortstop Orlando Cabrera was a big part of their 2007 World Series run. So when he was not retained, a lot of people were shocked and definitely surprised.

Well apparently the fan favorite during his time in Boston was forced out by his own teammates who were angry with him for talking to all of their wives. Come on guys, don't hate the player. Hate the game.

Delonte West sleeps with LeBron James' mother

In a case of the absolute worst thing that could have ever happen to a man, LeBron James' former teammate Delonte West was accused of bedding the King's mom, Gloria James. Not only is this devastating to hear for LeBron, but come on. Delonte looks hella crazy.

After LeBron angrily walked off the court upon losing to the Celtics in the 2010 conference finals, it became clear there were outside factors affecting his play. And look for the fact that teammate Delonte West was nailing his mom as the main source of distraction. No wonder he left Cleveland.

JR Smith was yayed out throughout the entire 2013 NBA playoffs

Coming off the best regular season of his career, JR Smith really turned around his play going into the 2013 NBA playoffs. And not for the best.

He played miserably and this can be credited to the fact that he was out partying in the NYC clubs every night. In fact rumors also surfaced that the Sixth Man of the Year was on heavy amounts of cocaine and was even blowing $1500 a week on weed. Now that's how you f*ck your team over.

Mike Piazza was having a secret gay relationship with a weatherman

It's really no secret that former Mets star catcher Mike Piazza is a sus boy. However news of his secret gay relationship with nationally broadcasted weatherman Sam Champion was enough to make this list.

After it was reported that the two were dating, he defensively denied until no end saying, "If I was gay, I'd be gay all the way." Sure buddy. Or should I say butty?

David Stern fixed the 1985 draft for the Knicks

Many people believe that the 1985 NBA draft was the first draft commissioner David Stern fixed. This was of course so that the Knicks could draft Georgetown center Patrick Ewing with the number one pick.

The Knicks were dying for some star power at that point in the decade and against high odds, they walked away with the best possible situation they could have. This was another case of a little too good to be true.

Joe DiMaggio and Ted Williams were traded after their two team owners got drunk

During a long night drinking in 1949, Red Sox owner Tom Yawkey and Yankees GM Larry McPhail agreed to trade the two future Hall of Famers: Joe DiMaggio and Ted Williams.

It was said that the two woke up the next morning forgetting they had made a deal. Now that's what you call some sauced boys.

Michael Jordan was secretly suspended by the NBA for gambling

As we all know, Michael Jordan made the unremarkable jump into baseball during the 1993-1994 season. While this was widely seen as his retirement from basketball, it was actually David Stern's way of hiding a suspension.

Apparently Jordan's gambling problem was so bad during his day that he was putting up six-figures and betting on NBA games that he was playing in.

And instead of burying his star player in what would have been one of the biggest scandals in sports history, he swept it under the rug and gave him the MLB ultimatum. Jordan would come back into the NBA and restore the order the season after.

The Miami Heat big three decided to come together at the 2008 Olympics

In what has to have been one of the biggest b*tch moves by three superstars in any sport, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh reportedly conspired to join forces back in 2008 during the Beijing Olympics.

After all agreeing to take pay cuts, the three joined forces in 2010 on a mission to win multiple championships together. Maybe that's why Bosh is the highest paid out of the trio. Makes sense now.
