Marcus Mariota Hasn't Signed With Titans Because They Won't Let Him Surf

Usually, NFL players hold out on signing contracts and attending training camps because they want more guaranteed money.

Easy enough to understand, right? Dudes just want to get paid.

But in the case of rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota, the holdout appears to be for a reason that has nothing to do with money whatsoever.

According to reports, the Tennessee Titans, who took Mariota with the second overall pick in this spring's draft, are at odds with the former Oregon quarterback over a clause in his proposed contract prohibiting the Hawaii native from surfing.

Hey, hanging 10 is a big deal in Hawaii.

Mariota is the only first-round pick yet to ink a deal, though the Titans are confident they'll get him to sign before training camp opens later this summer.

Looks like you can take the dude out of Hawaii, but you can't take Hawaii out of the dude.
