Every Olympic gold medalist has his or her own way of winding down after an event, and Simone Biles' favorite post-competition ritual is eating some good old fashioned pepperoni pizza. Olympians, they're just like us.
No matter if she wins or loses, she rewards herself with the cheesy goodness. She even has a shirt exemplifying her undying love for the pies:
She literally does this after every competition she competes in. That's a lot of pizza and some SERIOUS DEDICATION.
When asked about her pizza addiction, Biles told ABC,
It doesn't even matter if I don't win a self-gold, after every meet I have pizza. Pepperoni pizza.
Earlier this week, we learned fellow Olympian Michael Phelps also likes to guzzle down carbs after a race.
Right after the most decorated Olympian in history won his 23rd gold medal in the 4×100 race, he literally ate one pound of pasta. Yes, you read that right. One whole pound.
It's no secret that Olympians can eat an insane amount of calories every day due to the amount of exercise they get (you know, the whole exercise-to-calorie ratio), but Simone isn't all carbs all the time.
She makes sure to eat a banana before she competes in order to get in some potassium before she shows the world who's boss. But that still doesn't change her commitment to pizza.
She got teammate Gabby Douglas in on it too:
Simone Biles and the rest of the Final Five just got way cooler, in my opinion. I didn't even think that was possible.
Anyway, I hope she was able to find some pepperoni pizza in Rio because she has a ton of celebrating to do.
