At a time when other players are fighting tooth and nail to hold on to their NBA careers, Larry Sanders' decision to willingly walk away from his own was always going to ruffle feathers.

Sanders agreed to a contract buyout with the Milwaukee Bucks this past Saturday, which saw him leave half of the four-year, $44 million contract he signed just last year, and fans asked the obvious question: Why?

Why would anyone willingly walk away from a chance to play the game of basketball at its highest level and earn millions of dollars while doing so?
