This Teacher Reportedly Told A Student The Only Thing She's Good For Is Sex
Standing up to a bully is difficult. But when that bully is your teacher, “difficult” takes on an entirely new meaning.
An Atlanta-area teen is seeking legal action against her history teacher, who viciously berated her when she was unable to answer a question in class.
The victim, Greene County High School student Shaniaya Hunter, suffers from an eye condition that causes her to occasionally miss class. Because of her condition, Hunter frequently uses a school-issued iPad to record her lessons.
During one lesson in December, Hunter's teacher, who has yet to be identified, asked her a question about abolitionists. When Hunter failed to answer the question, the teacher proceeded to brutally insult her.
In the audio recording, which Hunter uploaded to SoundCloud after the incident, the teacher can be heard saying,
When another student interjects to tell the educator he's being rude, he responds,
The teacher involved allegedly has a reputation for verbally attacking students. When Hunter reported the abuse to school officials, however, no serious action was taken to discipline him.
Seeking justice, local attorney Ben Windham took on Hunter's case pro bono. He told WSB-TV News,
Hunter agrees. She said his comments "really hurt" her feelings and added,
I have to hand it to Hunter: Taking on your superior, even when warranted, requires an immense amount of bravery. Here's hoping she gets the justice she deserves — and keeps this crap teacher from ever abusing another student again.
