Here's How To Peel A Hard-Boiled Egg Without Actually Peeling It

by Gillian Fuller

While they're super healthy, eggs are kind of a pain in the ass to eat when you're on-the-run.

Sure, you can get 'em scrambled on a roll and topped with with bacon and cheese, or you can make them into a quiche and pack a slice with lunch — but then, the whole “healthy” thing sort of goes out the window.

In terms of health and portability, hard-boiled is the way to go. But peeling a hard-boiled egg is a special kind of hell, no matter what “tricks” you use to make the job easier or less of a mess.

But what if there were another way to remove the eggshell — a way that doesn't involve peeling?

As you've probably guessed by now, there is.

The trick, which involves “blowing” the shell off, represents one of those rare moments where science and magic collide.

Chef Tim Ferriss demonstrates the hack in the video up top, and needless to say, it's awesome. Check it out and see more from Ferriss here.
