Miami Had A Festival Filled With Beach Floats And It Turned Into An Utter Mess

by Kate Ryan

Everyone knows booze and large bodies of water do not mix. Add in some plastic floats and a few thousand people, and disaster is sure to follow.

Such was the case with the Floatopia festival in Miami on Saturday, which left the beach strewn with party detritus. Festival-goers complained of rampant drug use and "idiots" bringing knives and breaking bottles.

Mayor Philip Levine posted this image to his Facebook page, so partygoers can assume the biannual event won't be returning to Miami's beaches any time soon.

This is a great reminder for all of us to pick up our trash -- unless, of course, we want to bring Trash Island directly to our shores.
