Meet The Guys Who Actually Earn $1,000 Every Week By Standing In Line (Video)

by Gillian Fuller

There is nothing a busy New Yorker hates more than standing in line.

Sadly, it's one of the most persistent realities of living here. For coffee, for Cronuts, for sample sales, even for iPhones: If you want it, you're going to have to wait.

That is, unless you hire Robert Samuel.

Samuel, who might be the most brilliant businessman ever, is the founder of Same Ole Line Dudes, New York's only professional line-sitting service.

He and his team wait in lines for people who don't have the time or patience to do so themselves, charging $25 per hour per line sitter. As such, he routinely makes up to a thousand dollars per week.

Salon recently ran a feature on Samuel and his business as part of a story documenting the “Uber-ization of everything.” The video above is from that coverage.

Check it out, and head to Samuel's (exceedingly well-designed) website to learn more or hire him for the next sneaker release, Broadway show or brunch lines.
