That's the idea behind one Boston man's holiday services.

The man, who is unidentified, is advertising on Craigslist to be a real-life Elf on the Shelf — meaning, for $100 per hour, you can hire him to dress up like an elf and sit in your living room.

The Craigslist ad reads,

I will come to your holiday party dressed as the Elf on the Shelf and sit in any location you assign me while I stare emptily at your guests for the duration of the event.

Nope, not creepy at all.

Sadly, the original Craigslist posting has been flagged for removal — apparently, someone didn't like the idea of an animated Elf on the Shelf — but the bizarre offer has been forever ingrained in the Internet's memory nonetheless.
