Anna Victoria is going to seem, momentarily, like the last person you want to hear preach body positivity.
For those of us already flailing hopelessly through our 2016 resolution diets, frustration and self-hatred loom overhead, and photos of a bikini-clad fitness guru threaten to bring both crashing down upon us.
Though Anna Victoria, founder of Fit Body Guides, is in amazing shape, she understands self-criticism.
When progress feels impossible or indistinguishable, the sculpted social media star reminds us physical characteristics aren't even close to being the most important aspects of an individual.
In an Instagram photo of her stomach skin, rolled into small folds, Anna Victoria writes,
Your stomach does not have to be perfectly flat to be healthy, your stomach does not have to be perfectly flat for you to love yourself, and your stomach does not have to be perfectly flat to be confident and beautiful and an all around amazing person. As a society, we shouldn't let physical characteristics set the standard for whether we deserve to love ourselves or not… That type of strength and beauty can only be seen and felt from within.
Anna Victoria may eat clean, toxin-free meals and know what the execution of working your core looks like physically, but her perspective on self-love is probably the healthiest thing about her.
