This Cheerleader Asking Her Autistic Classmate To Prom Is The Sweetest Thing

by Anna Menta

You hear about a lot of terrible stuff humans do on a daily basis, but sometimes, you hear about some really awesome stuff, too.

Jonathan is an 18-year-old student at Park Vista Community High School in Lake Worth, Florida. He's on the autism spectrum. He's also totally going to prom with a cheerleader.

Mikal Bartosik, 17, surprised Jonathan in class with a cookie cake that said,

Will you go to prom with me?

Jonathan's reaction is the sweetest. He's clearly thrilled, jumping up and down, and he even gets in a "The Breakfast Club"-styled fist pump. Mikal and Jonathan share a hug, and it's the cutest thing ever.

They are both beautiful souls who filled me with hope for humanity.
