Unless you live in New York and are experiencing a fall that is averaging 1,000 degrees (global warming, amirite?), summer has been over for awhile. Gone are the days of margaritas on rooftops, whimsical beach days, and sweaty hookups, for they have been replaced with mulled wine in dark bars, hanging by campfires while decked in flannel, and cuddling next to fireplaces. And you all know what that means: It's officially cuffing season. I know, the temperature has been dropping for a month, so you thought cuffing season was already here. Well, this tweet about Drake's birthday and cuffing season proves that October 24 is the official start unto the season. Yes, as Twitter user @SylviaObell pointed out, cuffing season officially begins today, also known as Drake's birthday.

There are tons of reasons why Drake's birthday is the perfect way to start cuffing season. First and foremost, we all know Drake is the king of feelings. Honestly, who can't resist falling deeply in love to "Hold On, We're Going Home"? I certainly can't. And even if you aren't a huge fan of his music, don't pretend even for a second that he's not the biggest softie in the game. You know you were dying when he announced that he was in love with Rihanna at the 2016 Video Music Awards. Who better to mark the beginning of cuffing season than a man who is capable of that kind of romantic gesture? Nobody.

Drake's birthday also happens to fall on a super ideal day in October, when the weather is cold enough to cuddle with bae, but not too cold where you're crying over how frozen your fingers are. Early to mid October is still a little too warm for snuggling under the covers with another person, and the very end of October is already claimed by Halloween. (As much as we all love cuffing season, you can't compete with Halloween.) In other words, October 24 is just right.

Seriously, why didn't anyone think of this sooner?

Though @SylviaObell made the official announcement for the zeitgeist, other Twitter users agree that Drake is very strongly connected to cuffing season.

In honor of cuffing season beginning today, allow me to take you on a journey through some Drake songs that make us all feel the most feels, with accompanying lyrics that just destroy me every time.

What you doing that's so important?
I've been drinking so much
That I'ma call you anyway and say
F*ck that n*gga that you love so bad
I know you still think about the times we had
Pushing me away so I give her space
Dealing with a heart that I didn't break
I be there for you, I will care for you
I keep thinking you just don't know
Tryna run from that, say you done with that
On your face, girl, it just don't show
When you're ready, just say you're ready
When all the baggage just ain't as heavy
And the party's over, just don't forget me
We'll change the pace and we'll just go slow
You won't ever have to worry, you won't ever have to hide
You've seen all my mistakes so look me in my eyes
Passionate from miles away
Passive with the things you say
Passin' up on my old ways
I can't blame you no, no
Listen
Hard at buildin' trust from a distance
I think we should rule out commitment for now
'Cause we're fallin' apart
Leavin'

OK, now that we're all feeling sufficiently vulnerable, who's ready to cuff?
