Mercury In Retrograde December 2017 Could Seriously Mess Up Your Travel Schedule, So Plan Ahead

The last Mercury retrograde of the year is almost here, and while we all might let out a collective groan at the thought of it, there's no need to roll your eyes just yet. You're ahead of the game. Mercury retrograde Dec. 2017 is going to be as easy as can be, because I've come up with a plan to defend yourself against the chaos and confusion that often accompanies this dark time of accidentally sent text-messages, travel delays and bounced checks.

Of course, there's not much we can do in the way of the mistakes that others have made during Mercury Retrograde, but guess what? You don't have to sweat keeping your side of the street clean, and that my friend is what matters.

I personally hate Mercury Retrograde with a fiery passion and I know there are several astrologers who will tell you to make the best out of it, and I've included their perspective in this article as much as I can because I'm working on being more positive. But this is a preparation guide for everyone who, deep down in their hearts, can't stand this transit. And, it's also for everyone who would fight Mercury Retrograde if it was a person they met on the street.

Review Your Bank Accounts

OMG, there is nothing worse or more f*cking boring than looking at my bank account, except the anxiety I get from not looking at it. During Mercury Retrograde, unexpected things can happen, and you have to be prepared. Make a list of all your bills and the due dates associated with them. Put those dates in your calendar, and double check to make sure you haven't put the wrong ones in.

During Mercury's pre-retrograde shadow phase, there are still technological hiccups that happen we can barely begin to explain, so make sure you're double checking everything. This way, you can make sure to have enough money saved up so you're not thrown off by any unexpected charges or anything.

Double Check Your Calendar

This is especially important for those of you who work for yourselves, run your own business or startup. During the holiday hustle and bustle, there is always something that comes up, a payment that comes late, or a problem that arises with a client. Maybe you are scheduled to work remotely while you're in-transit from one place to another, and the WiFi doesn't work and you're ready to throw yourself off the plane. These are the things that happen with mercury in retrograde.

Do yourself this favor: Write an email now to everyone you are accountable to and let them know the dates you will be out of town, and set your auto-reply to "I am out of office from x-z" for those dates. The best defense is a good offense.

Lastly, Make Your Travel Plans Now

It sounds insane, but I swear on my "La Mer" face cream that buying a ticket once Mercury is already in retrograde will backfire like a motherf*cker. So get online now, and get your tickets home for Christmas before you massively regret your horrible decision to ignore my advice. Also, try to choose travel days that not everyone else is traveling on if you can. The holidays are (obviously) notorious for delays, but with Mercury Retrograde on top of everything else, we're all kinda doomed. Another way to prevent a Mercury mess up?

Take matters into your own hands, and book a car. This way you aren't stuck at the hands of an airline that, frankly, does not care about you, and you get to hold on to your own luggage without it getting lost.
