The Naked Truth: Couples Who Sleep In The Nude Tend To Be Happier Together

by Madeline Concannon

Apparently, letting your junk rub up against the sheets is the key to a happy relationship.

According to a poll conducted by Cotton USA, those who sleep naked are more content in relationships than those who don't. This is good to know, considering four out of 10 people and almost half of people over 55 already snooze in the nude.

In a group of 1,004 Britons, 57 percent of nude sleepers had happy relationships, compared to 48 percent of those who sleep in pajamas, 43 percent who sleep in teddies and 38 percent of those who sleep in onesies.

Stephen McKensie, 33, from Portsmouth, said,

I have been sleeping in the nude for six years now and it’s so much more comfortable than wearing  pyjamas or boxer shorts. My wife does it too, and we have never been happier. It helps you relax when you’re in bed.

Stephanie Thiers-Ratcliffe from Cotton USA, adds,

"[T]here are many factors which can affect the success of a relationship."

That's very true, Stephanie. And while I'm sure 300 count sheets can help someone relax in bed, I think a certain amount of confidence and openness go into being able to sleep completely nude, which also happen to be factors that contribute to a successful relationship.

So, I'm going to go ahead and guess that correlation is not causation when it comes to nighttime nudity affecting how well you get along with your boyfriend; just be you, girlfriend, and the success will follow.

However, this study also concluded that 50 percent of people are bothered by others eating in bed, 59 percent don't dig dirty laundry on the floor and 23 percent aren't about their partners wearing socks to bed.
